Help keep Champion Rd open by writing a letter or email to Members of Parliament. We've prepared a template to help you here.
The Level Crossing Removal Authority have developed a survey for all those that live in the area, those that access both Williamstown and Newport via Champion Road whether it be for business, pleasure or for healthcare and/or schools and everything else in between.
Now with any survey, the questions are always angled to ensure the end user gets the information / data they actually want, so yes you may get frustrated by some of the "leading questions", but this is where you get to create and be resourceful: use the “other box” when answering a question (and always ensure you select all that apply to the tick boxes, as this is crucial for those that be to know all this data and then at the end of the survey questions there is a comment section for you to detail what the impact will be on you, your family, your business, the community etc.
Basically we need at least the same number of you that signed the petition, a few months back, to do the same with this survey - so thats at least a thousand of you, to get this message across LOUD and CLEAR that the inner western communities need to be considered, heard and understood, and that closing an integral connecting road is going to cause so many other issues to the community, surrounding streets, businesses, families etc.
Your feedback, via this survey, will be considered alongside site investigations, traffic and engineering assessments that will help inform the final designs by Level. Crossing Removal Project.
The survey is open for a month.
The survey does save as you go, so you can spend time pondering your answers to ensure you totally nail it!
If you do have any friends, family members or neighbours who are not technically savvy or don't have access to a technical device, paper versions of the survey are available at Melissa Hornes office (101 Douglas Parade).
Please please please do spread the word and get as many people who use the Champion Road crossing to complete the survey and to ensure they add in their comments at the end of the survey so that the Level Crossing Removal Project can see the community backlash against permanently closing Champion Road.
